Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

The Manager, Behavioral Health Specialist oversees the work and supervision of all Behavioral Health Specialists staff. The Manager supervises employees and facilitates selection, training, and on-going evaluation of staff. Provides direct care responsibilities and leadership duties. 

  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates work of Behavioral Health Specialist staff. Interviews and hires all potential Behavioral Health Specialists applicants. Trains all Behavioral Health Specialist Supervisors with a focus on maintaining a therapeutic milieu and utilization of de-escalation skills, seclusion/restraint, and safe clinch.
  • Facilitates monthly meetings with Behavioral Health Specialist staff to give updates, provide training and guidance, and address any concerns with staff. Identifies any performance issues of individual Behavioral Health Specialist staff. Collaborates with staff to be more actively engaging with consumers.
  • Partners with the BHS Supervisors to provide clinical supervision and to oversee the quality of care. Ensures that BHS’s are in compliance with Joint Commission Standards, training, and medical testing.
  • Works collaboratively with clinical team to engage, monitor, and communicate with the consumer ensuring safety is maintained while meeting consumer individual needs.
  • Performs all essential functions of a Behavioral Health Specialist as needed and is responsible for ensuring all responsibilities of the BHS team and BHS Supervisors are met.
  • Maintains adequate staffing patterns to ensure an accurate schedule for BHS staff and proper staff to patient ratios. Accurately assesses staffing needs and increases staffing as necessary during high census times or cover PTO and decreases staffing as needed during low census times. Limits overtime as much as possible through use of Pool staff.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • 5 years of behavioral health experience or relevant experience 
  • 3 years of managerial experience 
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint technique
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
  • Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including but not limited to obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials as required for the role
  • Must be able to obtain a Washington State Food Handler's Card (BHS and RSS positions)

It would be great if you had:

 

  • Certified training (Safe Clinch, therapeutic options, etc.) 
  • 10 years of behavioral health experience
  • Completion of BHT certification.

The typical hiring range for this role in Washington is $79,178.00 - $84,134.00 annually.
