Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

 

The Recovery Support Specialist (for Post Crisis Services) provides patients with the natural supports proven instrumental in maintaining a strong and successful recovery while demonstrating a strong personal recovery and be a positive example that recovery is a desirable and attainable goal. Works in conjunction with multiple disciplines to meet patient’s treatment and recovery needs.

 

  • This role involves providing excellent customer service via the phone.  Including daily follow-up calls to patients after crisis care to ensure they are supported in their recovery and are successful within their treatment with the post-Crisis team.  This position also provides appointment reminder calls.
  • Provides education on overcoming social determinates.
  • Employee serves as an educational resource for potential clients/patients actively receiving treatment at a hospital and/or long-term care facility.
  • Encourages and supports from a place of experience and understanding and willing to use appropriate self-disclosure.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community resources to help meet patient’s unique recovery needs. Implements knowledge of multiple paths of recovery and promotes them equally.
  • Works cohesively with Multi-Discipline Team through all aspects of patient’s treatment and recovery.
  • Documents all encounters with individuals in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Acts as an active facilitator (or co-facilitator) in groups and individual recovery. Serves as a patient advocate and support resource throughout the treatment process.
  • Builds therapeutic alliances and exercising trauma informed care.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

 

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • At least 6 months of personal recovery
  • Peer Support Certification from a certified Peer Support Employment Training Program (PSETP)
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment

It would be nice if you had:

 

  • 1-year Behavioral Health/Substance Use Treatment or GMH Recovery experience
  • Knowledge of evidence-based/person-centered skillsets, such as Motivational Interviewing
  • Trauma Informed Care, Verbal De-escalation, Harm Reduction, and Person-centered language
  • Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.)
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Experience using EHR
