Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

The Manager, Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for the overall direction and guidance of the Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) staff.  This position supervises employees and participates in the selection, orientation, counseling, and evaluation of RSS staff.  

 

  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates work of Recovery Support Specialist staff.
  • Hires and develops new employees and conducts performance reviews. Motivates and mentors' staff to achieve department and company goals.  
  • Provides clinical supervision and oversees the quality of careEnsures that Recovery Support Specialist staff are in compliance with Joint Commission Standards, training, and medical testing. 
  • Performs duties of a Recovery Support Specialist to help fill schedule as needed to ensure coverage. Ensures that staff have the necessary resources and training to provide successful individual care. 
  • Facilitates quality through chart audits as required for paraprofessional status. 
  • Works to lessen the instance of seclusion and restraint by building therapeutic alliance and exercising trauma informed care. 
  • Collaborates with leadership team to oversee the quality of care. Explores new projects and/or revenue sources for department and completes as assigned. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • 6 years of peer specialist or related experience 
  • Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) through the Health Care Authority’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery 
  • 2 years of managerial experience 
  • Knowledge of multiple peer modalities (principles of recovery, WHAM, WRAP, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care Philosophy 
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card for the State of Washington (BHS/RSS positions)
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
  • Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including but not limited to obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials as required for the role

It would be great if you had:

 

  • Personal experience in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use/addiction 
  • Previous multi-entity healthcare system experience 
  • Knowledge of the Washington State behavioral health system principles
  • Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.)

The typical hiring range for this role in Washington is $84,065.00 - $89,444.00 annually.
