Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

We are hiring a Manager, Nursing who will serve as a leader with direct and indirect patient care responsibilities. In collaboration with leadership, the Manager, Nursing will assist to develop and support systems of care which foster continuity of care, optimal patient outcomes, and a successful health care team environment.

 

  • Responsible for the daily functioning of the observation and inpatient units, in accordance with current state, federal, and facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the nursing department and coordinates all hiring, onboarding, training, and corrective action of nursing staff.
  • Manages nursing schedule and coverage for all nursing services provided in accordance with regulations, policy, and company’s resource utilization management systems, including the hiring and supervision of agency nurses.
  • Oversees incident, event, seclusion, and restraint
  • Serves as a resource for nursing best practices for nursing staff and provides mentorship and coaching, as well as staff from other disciplines.
  • Responsible for the Infection Control process and participates in the Infection Control Committee.
  • Manages communications between leadership and the nursing department, including calling nursing department meetings as may be required.
  • Develops nursing department workflows and processes, including to roll out initiatives stewarded by corporate or facility leadership.
  • Maintain the standards of the Joint Commission, RHBA, and evidence-based best practices for nursing. Participates in Corporate and local Quality and Utilization Management programs as appropriate.
  • Participate in the Quality Committees and lead where appropriate Performance Improvement Plans to implement best practice service provisions.
  • Provides education to employees on state, federal, local laws, regulations, accreditations, guidelines and related company policies, including clinical oversight for provision of nursing services.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • At least 5 years of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of managerial experience, including experience as a Charge Nurse
  • Unrestricted license as Registered Nurse through the Arizona State Board of Nursing
  • Knowledge of practice requirements of RN/LPN scope of practice as outlined in the State of Arizona Practice Act
  • Knowledge of psychiatric nursing and interventions and clinical knowledge base.
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment.

  • Arizona Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card

It would be great if you had:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience
  • Familiarity with Court Ordered Treatment process
  • Experience and familiarity with Infection Control practices
