Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.  Since opening our doors, we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

Under the direction and supervision of the Nursing Manager, the Supervisor, Nursing oversees the work and supervision of assigned Nursing staff. This position will have both leadership and direct care responsibilities and duties.  Supervisor responsibilities (20-25%) include onboarding and training, scheduling, timesheet management and performance management of assigned staff. Direct care responsibilities (75-80%) include performing all regularly assigned Nursing duties. This position oversees and supervises the operation, organization, and flow of recipients through the Inpatient & Observation units; including but not limited to delegating nursing assignments, overseeing admissions, transfers and discharges. The Supervisor, Nursing actively collaborates with the Lead Provider and other members of the shift to ensure the unit runs safely and efficiently.

 

  • With support and guidance from Nursing Manager and other clinical leadership, this position directs, supervises, and evaluates work of assigned Nursing staff.
  • Participates in interviewing and the selection of Nursing applicants.
  • Responsible for onboarding and training of new hires under their supervision, including completion of the 90-day Competency Checklists
  • Ensures oversight of biweekly clinical supervisions for all BHT and BHPP staff.
  • Provides Nurse Supervision for the Facility Units and maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu. Ensures all RN and LPN responsibilities are met and abide by company policy.
  • Performs all essential functions of a Registered Nurse as needed.
  • Completes reviews and audits of staff documentation to determine compliance with JCHAO and OMFL standards. 
  • Assists Director of Nursing with the implementation of new policies/procedures and collection of necessary data for reporting (Infection Control, incidents/Medication Errors, Injuries, and Staffing issues).
  • Actively assesses work area for non-compliance issues and alerts Director of Nursing with identified concerns.
  • Reviews and manages assigned staff timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, company laws, policies, and guidelines.
  • Monitors the inpatient unit to coordinate care and safety issues. Collaborates with other members of the Multidisciplinary team to keep a smooth flow of admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Ensures coverage for any RN/LPN call-offs for the oncoming shift.  Reports lack of coverage to Director of Nursing. Ensures assigned Nursing staff on the inpatient unit remain in compliance with required trainings.
  • Utilizes de-escalation procedures and theories to assist in providing a safe milieu. Utilizes skills effectively to describe and demonstrate roles and responsibilities relative to safety. Reviews seclusion/restraint packet and assiss with their corrections.
  • Coordination of inpatient intakes and review of intake packets.
  • Responsible for all supervisor duties for assigned staff including timecard approvals, PTO approvals, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Partners with BHS Management on complex and escalated employee issues.
  • Supervises Nursing staff on assigned shift.
  • Oversees work schedule and daily activities of assigned Nursing staff (approximately 15 staff).
  • Supervises and is responsible for training, corrective action, and performance reviews of assigned staff.
  • Provides ongoing performance evaluations and notes each evaluation on supervisory discussion log.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program
  • 3-5 years of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience
  • 1-2 years of managerial/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • Unrestricted license as Registered Nurse through the Washington State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege

  • American Heart Association BLS

  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) or ability to obtain an NPI prior to the start date
  • Must be a current holder of Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) certification, or have the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment

It would be great if you had:

 

  • Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience
  • Familiarity with Court Ordered Treatment process
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

The standard hiring range for this position in Kirkland, WA is $59.23 to $73.97 per hour. The exact compensation will be based on factors such as years of experience, competency, and skill level.
