Our story
 
Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.  Since opening our doors, we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

The Manager, Mobile Crisis Services, oversees the daily operations of social services within the mobile crisis response team. This role includes managing a team of crisis responders, ensuring high-quality care and effective crisis intervention, collaborating with law enforcement, community partners, and healthcare providers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations. The Manager plays a critical role in improving outcomes for individuals experiencing crises by delivering efficient compassionate care, and leading staff training programs while adhering to best practices in crisis response.

  • Crisis Triage & Assessment:
    • Supervise crisis triage and screening assessments to ensure patients are appropriately prioritized for clinical interventions and routed to necessary services.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of crisis intervention strategies that reduce the need for physical restraint and emphasize de-escalation techniques.
  • Care Coordination & Collaboration:
    • Actively oversee coordination of care between individuals in crisis, outpatient providers, physicians, family members, and external agencies.
    • Ensures that all discharge plans are communicated to the relevant stakeholders, facilitating smooth transitions of care.
    • Serves as a primary point of contact for complaints and grievances, handling escalations from families, patients, and outside agencies to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Supervision & Clinical Support:
    • Provides clinical supervision for associate-level licensed or pre-licensure staff, supporting their path toward independent licensure.
    • Oversees clinical decision-making, documentation, and discharge planning by social services staff, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Flow & Barrier Management:
    • Monitor individuals flow and movement, working with leadership to identify and resolve internal or external barriers that impede timely discharge or care transitions.
      • Collaborate with community partners and facility leadership to streamline patient transitions, improving overall care outcomes.
  • Utilization:
    • Oversees utilization management with commercial insurance, including pre-certification processes.
    • Attends meetings with outside agencies and represents the mobile crisis unit in discussions aimed at improving collaboration and care delivery.
  • Recovery Support Services:
    • Oversees the development and provision of recovery support services delivered by social services staff, ensuring that interventions are evidence-based and trauma-informed.
    • Ensures that social services staff implement best practices in crisis intervention, treatment planning, and follow-up care to support long-term recovery for individuals.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Performs additional duties assigned by the VP of Clinical Operations to support the organization's overall mission

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
  • Unrestricted license as a Licensed Mental Health Professional in Pennsylvania (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, CAADC)
  • Licensed to supervise for independent licensure
  • 3 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment, or relevant work.
  • 1 year of supervisory or management experience
  • Knowledge of principles of recovery, family of origin/intergenerational issues, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders
  • Knowledge and experience working with special populations (Those individuals identified as having serious mental illness, substance abuse diagnoses, brain injuries, and those over 60 years of age)
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques
  • If working with youth, experience working within the Children’s system of care, their families, and stakeholders

The standard hiring range for this position in Harrisburg, PA is $86,400 - $116,000 per year. The exact compensation will be based on factors such as years of experience, competency, and skill level.
