Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.  Since opening our doors we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

This position oversees the work and supervision of all Behavioral Health Specialists staff. Supervises employees and facilitates selection, training, and on-going evaluation of staff. Provides direct care responsibilities and leadership duties. 

  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of Behavioral Health Specialist staff. Interviews and hires all potential Behavioral Health Specialist applicants. Trains all Lead Behavioral Health Specialists with a focus on maintaining a therapeutic milieu and utilization of de-escalation skills, seclusion/restraint, and safe clinch. 
  • Facilitates monthly meetings with Behavioral Health Specialist staff to give updates, provide training and guidance, and address any concerns with staff. Identifies any performance issues of individual Behavioral Health Specialist staff. Collaborates with staff to be more actively engaging with individuals. 
  • Partners with the Lead BHS to provide clinical supervision and to oversee the quality of care. Ensures that BHS’s are in compliance with Joint Commission Standards, training, and medical testing. 
  • Works collaboratively with clinical team to engage, monitor and communicate with the individual ensuring safety is maintained while meeting the individual’s needs. 
  • Performs all essential functions of a Behavioral Health Specialist as needed and is responsible for ensuring all responsibilities of the BHS and Lead BHS are met 
  • Maintains adequate staffing patterns to ensure an accurate schedule for BHS staff and proper staff to individual ratios. Accurately assesses staffing needs and increases staffing as necessary during high census times, or to cover PTO and decreases in staffing as needed during low census times.  Limits overtime as much as possible through use of Pool staff. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • 5 years of behavioral health experience or relevant experience 
  • 3 years of managerial experience 
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint technique. 

It would be great if you had:

  • Certified training (Safe Clinch, therapeutic options, etc.) 
  • 10 years of behavioral health experience. 
  • Completion of BHT certification.

The typical hiring range for this role in Washington is $79,178.00 - $84,134.00 annualy.
