Our story

Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.  Since opening our doors we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

This position is responsible for the overall direction and guidance of the Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) staffSupervises employees and participates in the selection, orientation, counseling, and evaluation of RSS staff.  

  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates work of Recovery Support Specialist staff. Hires and develops new employees and conducts performance reviews. Motivates and mentors staff to achieve department and company goals.  
  • Provides clinical supervision and oversees the quality of care. Ensures that Recovery Support Specialist staff are in compliance with Joint Commission Standards, training, and medical testing. 
  • Performs duties of a Recovery Support Specialist to help fill schedule as needed to ensure coverage. Ensures that staff have the necessary resources and training to provide successful individual care. 
  • Facilitates quality through chart audits as required for paraprofessional status. 
  • Works to lessen the instance of seclusion and restraint by building therapeutic alliance and exercising trauma informed care. 
  • Collaborates with leadership team to oversee the quality of care. Explores new projects and/or revenue sources for department and completes as assigned. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • 6 years of peer specialist or related experience 
  • Certified peer counselor (CPC) through the Health Care Authority’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery 
  • 2 years of managerial experience 
  • Knowledge of multiple peer modalities (principles of recovery, WHAM, WRAP, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care Philosophy 
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques. 

It would be great if you had:

  • Personal experience in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use/addiction 
  • Previous multi-entity healthcare system experience 
  • Knowledge of the Washington State behavioral health system principles. 
  • Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.)

The typical hiring range for this role in Washington is $84,065.00 - $89,444.00 annualy.
