Our story

Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.  Since opening our doors we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

We are hiring a Nurse Manager who will serve as a leader with direct and indirect patient care responsibilities. In collaboration with leadership, the Nurse Manager will assist to develop and support systems of care which foster continuity of care, optimal patient outcomes, and a successful health care team environment.

  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff in accordance with current state, federal and facility rules, regulations policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the coordination of all hiring, training and progressive discipline of nursing and behavioral health specialist staff. Ensures safe and adequate staffing patterns for all nursing services provided, including the hiring and supervision of agency nurses when required.
  • Serves as a resource for nursing best practices for staff, as well as staff from other disciplines. Performs duties of Director of Nursing in absence.
  • Functions as Infection Control Nurse as needed.
  • Maintain the standards of JCAHO, Washington State, and evidence-based best practices. Participates in Corporate and local Quality and Utilization Management programs as appropriate.
  • Provides education to employees on state, federal, local laws, regulations, accreditations, guidelines and related company policies.
  • Assess department for non-compliance issues and notifies appropriate senior management. Adheres to compliance training requirements; understands that training is a required condition of employment; and institutes disciplinary process to employees who do not comply.
  • May provide direct individual care when needed.
  • Direct Reporting:
    • Supervises front line nursing staff.
  • Supervisory Functions:
    • Oversees work schedule and daily activities of nursing staff. Supervises and facilitates employee selection, training, corrective action, and performance reviews.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience
  • 2 years of managerial experience
  • Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice
  • BLS certification is required
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations
  • Knowledge of practice requirements of RN/LPN scope of practice as outlined in the State of Virginia Practice Act
  • Knowledge of psychiatric nursing and interventions and clinical knowledge base

It would be great if you had:

  • Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience
  • Familiarity with Washington State Involuntary treatment process
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or additional related education and/or experience

The typical hiring range for this role in Washington is $115,345.00 - $145,877.50 annually.
